- Take cinnamon

Instructions to make Kim’s Baklava:
- Preheat oven 350°
- Butter a 9x13” dish
- Toss together 1 tsp cinnamon & 1 lb chopped nuts
- Unroll phyllo dough & cut whole stack in half to fit in dish. Cover dough with damp cloth (to prevent drying out)
- Place two sheets of phyllo in bottom of dish. Brush generously with butter. Sprinkle 2-3 Tbsp of nut mixture on top. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used. Ending with about 6 layers.
- Using a sharp knife cut all the way down to the bottom into 4 long rows. Then 9 times diagonally (36 diamond shapes)
- Bake for 50 minutes
- While baklava is baking combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in 1/2 cup of honey, 1 tsp vanilla extract, & 1 tsp of zest.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove baklava from the oven and spoon over immediately.
- Let cool completely before serving
- Store uncovered.
