  7. Bake for 50 minutes
  8. While baklava is baking combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in 1/2 cup of honey, 1 tsp vanilla extract, & 1 tsp of zest.
  9. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove baklava from the oven and spoon over immediately.
  11. Let cool completely before serving
  12. Store uncovered.
